Choosing a nursery is a big decision. At Banana Moon Bromley, we understand the level of trust that parents place in us and we don’t take that lightly. Whether you're just starting your search or preparing for a visit, here’s everything you need to know about how we care for your child, from meals and sleep to training and funding.
What is the environment like?
Our nursery is purpose-built with age-specific rooms and thoughtfully designed spaces. Facilities include:
A calm, engaging, sensory room
A creative art room
An indoor soft play area for all-weather movement
Two separate rooms for under-twos, each tailored to their stage
A dedicated baby sleep room
Air conditioning throughout the setting
Our outdoor space is flexible and engaging, and includes:
A shaded baby garden
A tranquil Secret Garden
A large main garden for "big play"
An outdoor classroom used daily
We also offer coach-led extracurricular activities across all age groups, including music, multi-sports, rugby, dancing and more.
Is the nursery clean and hygienic?
Yes. We follow a rigorous hygiene schedule maintained by our team and external professional cleaners. High-touch surfaces, toilets and toys are cleaned daily. We have strong hygiene practices in place for toileting, sleep, meals and play and all cleaning logs are regularly audited.
Are toilets and basins child-sized? What about potty training? Yes, all bathrooms are child-sized and cleaned regularly. We also support potty training,working closely with parents, using consistent routines. Our nappy changing areas meet the new EYFS 2025 requirements for discretion and dignity. Changes are logged on the Blossom app so you can view them throughout the day.
Meals are cooked fresh every day in our 5-star hygiene-rated kitchen. We provide:
A nutritious breakfast
Two hot, home-cooked meals
Healthy snacks
Water available and offered throughout the day
We already meet the 2025 EYFS enhanced mealtime safety standards, including:
Face-to-face supervision by a paediatric first aid-trained team member at every meal
Safe portion sizes and choking awareness
Clear allergy protocols known and followed by all staff

What are your opening hours?
We’re open 7.30am to 6.30pm, 51 weeks of the year. That means working parents never need to worry about term-time closures or sourcing extra care during holidays.
We have clear procedures for fire evacuation, lockdown and medical emergencies. Fire drills are held regularly. We hold the Millie’s Mark accreditation, which means 100% of our team are paediatric first aid trained. See our accreditation here: Millies Trust.
Parents are notified of any incident, and all actions are logged. CCTV is in place in throughout the nursery for added reassurance.
What training and vetting do your staff have?
All staff:
Are enhanced DBS checked
Are registered on the DBS Update Service
Are recruited using Safer Recruitment (including 5 years of references)
Complete full induction training before entering any room
We do not use agency or temporary staff, and never allow lone working.
Additional training includes:
Lullaby Trust safe sleep guidance
SEN awareness with support from our SENCo
Outdoor learning CPD (including Level 3 Forest School qualified practitioner)
Baby-specific care training for under-twos
What are your staff-to-child ratios?
We always meet our statutory ratios:
1 adult to 3 children under 2
1 adult to 4 children aged 2
1 adult to 8 children aged 3 and above
Children are always supervised by staff. No one is ever left alone, and we operate with active, hands-on supervision at all times.
Do children go outside every day?
Yes. children go outdoors twice daily, including babies. On the rare occasion weather conditions make this unsafe, we use our flexible indoor play areas to keep children active.
Can you support my family’s specific needs?
Absolutely. We’ll talk through everything that matters to you, from flexible pick-ups to daily routines. We have a clear late collection policy and do not allow private babysitting between families and staff, in line with our safeguarding standards.
