The most commonly asked questions when visiting a nursery

Choosing a nursery is a big decision. At Banana Moon Bromley, we understand the level of trust that parents place in us and we don’t take that lightly. Whether you're just starting your search or preparing for a visit, here’s everything you need to know about how we care for your child, from meals and sleep to training and funding.

What is the environment like?

Our nursery is purpose-built with age-specific rooms and thoughtfully designed spaces. Facilities include:
  • A calm, engaging, sensory room
  • A creative art room
  • An indoor soft play area for all-weather movement
  • Two separate rooms for under-twos, each tailored to their stage
  • A dedicated baby sleep room
  • Air conditioning throughout the setting

Our outdoor space is flexible and engaging, and includes:

  • A shaded baby garden
  • A tranquil Secret Garden
  • A large main garden for "big play"
  • An outdoor classroom used daily

We also offer coach-led extracurricular activities across all age groups, including music, multi-sports, rugby, dancing and more.

Is the nursery clean and hygienic?
Yes. We follow a rigorous hygiene schedule maintained by our team and external professional cleaners. High-touch surfaces, toilets and toys are cleaned daily. We have strong hygiene practices in place for toileting, sleep, meals and play and all cleaning logs are regularly audited.

Are toilets and basins child-sized? What about potty training?
Yes, all bathrooms are child-sized and cleaned regularly. We also support potty training, working closely with parents, using consistent routines. Our nappy changing areas meet the new EYFS 2025 requirements for discretion and dignity. Changes are logged on the Blossom app so you can view them throughout the day.

You can read our full Potty Training Guide here.

How are meals prepared?
Meals are cooked fresh every day in our 5-star hygiene-rated kitchen. We provide:
  • A nutritious breakfast
  • Two hot, home-cooked meals
  • Healthy snacks
  • Water available and offered throughout the day

We already meet the 2025 EYFS enhanced mealtime safety standards, including:
  • Face-to-face supervision by a paediatric first aid-trained team member at every meal
  • Safe portion sizes and choking awareness
  • Clear allergy protocols known and followed by all staff

What are your opening hours?
We’re open 7.30am to 6.30pm, 51 weeks of the year. That means working parents never need to worry about term-time closures or sourcing extra care during holidays.
